Christmas I

(In our living room on December 22 with gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Sargent)

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for the Christmas gifts. Ellie had a wonderful time opening them and has had and even more wonderful time playing. I love her angel ornament - it is her first ornament - and it is perfect. Thank you also for the Nativity set! I've often admired them and they will look beautiful in our living room next Christmas.

Mom, the jingle bell topper to those stacking cups is perfect. It has definitely taken over the duties of Ellie's previous jingle bell. This one rings much better! And, it's a bit bigger. She has taken to crawling around with it in one hand, just like the other one. I love the simplicity of all the toys you sent. Ellie is already playing with them energetically, but I see there is a lot of learning and growth to be had with them in the future. We love you guys and miss you a lot. Merry Christmas!

Gracie has those stacking cups and still LOVES that rattling ball that is supposed to sit on top. It has been a favorite toy for a long time.

Have a merry Christmas. We will miss you guys here. Hopefully you will have a great time with Seth's family.

As I recall, toys like these are the basics that Ellie (and any brothers and sisters) will play with for years to come. First she will learn to nest and stack them, then there will come a time when they are the perfect bathtub toys--to fill and pour. There is also a stage when they get stuffed full of play dough, or are used as stamps for play dough pictures.

Do you know that the blue hat picture has Ellie wearing that hat backwards? The star-flower shape is supposed to be at the back of her head and the scalloped edge is supposed to surround her face--it should be cuter than it is here! Or did Seth just stick it on fast for the photo?

Merry Christmas again. Jingle ball, jingle ball, jingle all the way!

Too cute! I am so glad she is growing and entertaining all who love her! I can't wait to babysit again (and ensure she sleeps for hours upon returning home)!!!

See you three for dinner!
