Hats from Grandma

Thank you for the hats, mom. Eleanor loves them. I suppose that was evident from the last 2 posts where she was wearing the purple and blue one... she likes to wear them all the time.

Thank you, Gromper!Okay, Mommy, I'm done with the pictures!

Tacos

Eleanor is a wonderful eater. But, one of my favorite things about her is that when given the choice, she would rather eat tacos over almost anything else. She gets so excited!

When Daddy Studies...

We try really hard to be quiet, but near him. It works for a while. :)

"Coo Dude" Tippin

Eleanor is obsessed with Daddy's hats - so much so that we keep saying we need to get a toddler sized baseball cap, but still haven't been up to Billings for a shopping trip. Anyway, she loves sporting the good ol' Dutch Bros paraphernalia and thinks it's pretty "coo!"
We think she's pretty cute.

And her crazy personality definitely comes out when she's in front of the camera. What a ham!
Doesn't she look like a little girl now and not a baby!

Finally, Back At It

Eleanor and I have been utilizing our jogging stroller once again! Amanda is determined to run a Shamrock Half Marathon in Bozeman, MT the weekend before St. Patrick's Day and she's convinced me to do it with her. :) (This is one instance where peer pressure is fantastic.)

So, we're back in training. Luckily, the weather has been beautiful around her, too, so we've easily been able to get out each day. Running again feels wonderful. I'm not nearly as out of shape as I thought I'd be...

What else is going on on our lives:
- Seth is studying and studying and studying for his upcoming licensure exam
- Eleanor is much better, although her cough came back yesterday a bit
- Ella and I are getting back into our old activities now that the new year has arrived, so we're attending a women's Bible Study, doing MOPS, running, attending a weekly play group, and teaching piano lessons
- I've started exchanging child care with a friend, so Ella hangs out at her house 2 afternoons a week and we have an extra kiddo here with us various mornings
- I'm still working hard to remember (and develop new) favorite recipes avoiding gluten, dairy, yeast and sugar (I'm doing well with everything but the sugar)

We hope you all are well and hope to have some fun pictures to post here soon of our new adventures (or just normal life). :)

Insomniac

Eleanor slept through most of the night last night, but I just couldn't sleep for the life of me. I even waited up until 12:30 am for Seth to come to bed with me (that never happens!). I really hate nights like these. I just tossed and turned, couldn't shut my brain off and even considered getting up and out of bed to do something productive. Instead I stayed with my misery and was woken up way too early by a little girl wanting breakfast. I feel like I was run over by a truck. I hope you all had a much better night than I!

Morning Blessing

Eleanor woke early this morning and I was very tired. Mostly from tossing and turning throughout the night. Wonderfully, however, this sunrise over our neighbors' houses cheered me up. It actually made me quite happy to be awake. We enjoyed our breakfast while looking out the window.
The weather has been beautiful here over the last week. One afternoon it actually got up to 50 degrees! We've enjoyed walking and running again - in small spurts because of Eleanor's continued sickness. On that note, however, she is getting MUCH better. She slept through the night the last 2 nights and her cough is now only a sporadic occurrence. Her fever broke on Wednesday morning. She is now a much more fun gal to be around and the rest of us are also feeling like we've had a little time to get ourselves back to normal. Thank you for your prayers.

Friends!

In an attempt to get Eleanor away from the daycare where we're assuming she's picking up so many nasty bugs, I've started trading babysitting hours with a friend. Her daughter is 2 1/2, Eleanor is 1 1/2 and they get along beautifully. Ella is always excited to get to play with Avery, she even cried yesterday when Avery's grandma came to pick her up. Ella also loves Avery's big sisters, so getting to go to their house to play is a big deal, too.

We've already had many an adventure with the two girls here at our house, but just last week I started taking some photos. Enjoy these pieces of their cute little friendship.

All dressed up...

This is a Boo-Hoo, Woe is Me Post

You know you've been to the doctor too many times lately when the receptionists no longer ask your name. Instead they just say, "Hi. I don't imagine your address has changed? Take a seat."

Eleanor is sick again. I don't know if anyone who reads the blog really knows or understands how often she's been sick lately... and I guess it's not important. But, part of the reason I'm rarely blogging these days is because we're always either sick, have had no sleep or are recovering from being sick and having no sleep.

So, I took Ella to the Dr yesterday, again, and was there all morning. Once again they don't know what's wrong with her, but the good news is: her urine is clean, her chest x-rays were clean and her blood work is clean. She's on a new antibiotic and we're hoping it works. Otherwise I guess we have to do some allergy testing.

I'm in a place where I haven't slept well in 4 or 5 days, I haven't had any naps (because Eleanor is not napping), I'm dealing with a fussy sick kiddo, I've done everything I can think of to help her feel better and sleep better - and it's not working. Frustrating. Discouraging. Mostly I just want to cry and then sleep for a long time... too bad I don't feel comfortable having someone else watch Ella for a while so I can do that - I really don't want anyone else or their children to get sick, too.

So, I still have hundreds of Christmas clips and pics to look through and post. I also have some adorable pics of Ella and her friend, Avery, playing. Hopefully soon I'll have the time, stamina and desire to get things posted for y'all... and maybe that will help me feel like we're getting back to normal. Peace to you.

Snuggle Days

Christmas was wonderful, New Year's was fun and now it's quite snowy outside and we're recovering from our "break." :)

To recover, I let Eleanor wear her "jabbies" all day a couple of days. When she's in her jammies, she tends to stay a little more low-key and while I was putting away laundry she climbed up on the sofa in our room and made herself comfy. She announced to me, "Mommy, pillows! Nice!" I expected it to only last a few moments, but when I next looked up, she was totally snuggled in...
... and way too cute not to take a few pictures. :) She stayed put while I finished my task, closed her eyes and relaxed.
